Poker players who use their iMac, MacBook Pros, and other Apple invented computers have been able to play on the Euro-friendly poker room PartyPoker through two options. The first is the Instant Play feature that allows anyone with a Java-supporting browser such as Safari or FireFox to play in a browser window. The feature is quite impressive if you haven’t already tried it out and gives the same look and feel as if you were playing the full software client. The second option is to utilize a program such as Boot Camp or Parallels, which let users boot up Windows in an OS X window. Either way, there’s a slate of excellent promotions taking place at PartyPoker this December.
The Cash Game Race started at PartyPoker on December 3rd and will conclude on December 23rd. PartyPoker will be giving away $50,000 to December’s top PartyPoint earners. The promotion is exclusive to Bronze, Silver, and Gold players. As players grind it out at the cash game tables, they will earn points and, the more points they earn, the higher they will go on the leaderboard. The players at the top of the leaderboard will then win their share of $50,000 in the following manner:
1st: $3,000
2nd: $2,500
3rd: $2,000
4th: $1,750
5th: $1,500
6th: $1,250
7th: $1,000
8th: $750
9th: $500
10th: $500
The top 500 players on the leaderboard actually receive a prize. Members of the Palladium Lounge are not eligible to participate in the promotion and only PartyPoints earned on cash games during the promotional period count. At the end of the promotion, cash prizes will be credited to players within 48 hours. Currently, it looks like first place might already be wrapped up, with “luckboxing47” out to a ridiculous 25,100 points as of December 14th, with the person in second place, “Kokais72” holding just 9,528 points. Since 500 players will get paid, it’s certainly not unreasonable to think that a grinder would be able to play some catch-up.
The second segment of the Full House promotion is called “STT Jackpots,” which rewards players of Single Table Tournaments, otherwise known as sit and gos. This promotion started on December 1st and runs through the end of the month. PartyPoker is giving away huge jackpots worth a total of $160,000 to players good enough to win give consecutive single-table tournaments. The “Jackpot Hunter’s” prizes are:
– $50,000 gold jackpot (1 prize available, $55+ buy-in tournaments)
– $20,000 silver jackpot (3 prizes available, $12 to $54 buy-in tournaments)
– $10,000 bronze jackpot (5 prizes available, $3 to $11 buy-in tournaments)
To win the jackppot, players must win five consecutive STTs at the same buy-in in order to be eligible for a jackpot claim. Only 10-seat STTs are eligible and “Double or Nothing” tournaments do not count. Players can claim more than one prize and all prizes are awarded on a first come, first served basis. In order to make a claim, players must send an e-mail to PartyPoker and confirm their account name. Once a claim is verified, the jackpot will be paid within 48 hours.
The final segment of the Full House promotion, known as the “MTT Jackpots,” is where the big jackpot of $1 million can be won. The promotion started on December 1st and continues through the end of the year. Players are able to use their PartyPoints to buy into daily value-based tournaments running Monday through Saturday at 14:00 ET. In each tournament, there is a $5,000 prize pool and a buy-in of just 20 PartyPoints. The top 200 players in each $5,000 tournament will qualify for a $250,000 Grand Final to be played on January 3rd at 14:00 ET. Players will also be able to buy into the final directly for 1,000 PartyPoints.
On top of the freerolls running six days per week, PartyPoker is offering up $1 million in Full House jackpot prizes. Any player who wins two of the daily tournaments will win $100,000 cash. If a player wins any three, they’ll take down the $1 million mega-jackpot. Tournament victories do not have to be consecutive and in order to qualify, each tournament must contain at least 1,000 players. There is only one $100,000 jackpot and one $1 million jackpot available during the promotion and players cannot claim more than one jackpot prize. To make a claim, once again players will have to send an e-mail to PartyPoker.
The action continues to rage on at PartyPoker and there’s no reason that players of all bankrolls and skill levels can’t participate. Whether you are a cash game player, sit and go specialist, or multi-table tournament junkie, there’s something going on for everybody. Visit PartyPoker for more details.
