Kara Scott
Kara Scott is an internationally acclaimed poker TV host, doubling as the host of the World Series of Poker Europe, and of High Stakes Poker on GSN. Other than her two main gigs, she has done numerous guest appearances hosting on other Poker TV shows. She is also a recent member addition of Team Party, Party Poker’s own celebrity team exclusives.
Kara first started hosting gambling shows when she co-hosted the World Series of Backgammon from Monte Carlo as well as Cannes. That show aired on EuroSport, and in addition to that she also hosted a weekly backgammon show on the same network. For that gig, she teamed along side one of the world’s most renowned Backgammon players, John Clarke. Moving from the world of Backgammon into the world of poker happened when Kara got the job hosting “Poker Night Live”, a UK production that has won several awards and boasts a cult like following. She did that job for 4 successful years, all the while making cameos in different poker shows, magazines and other publications.
Hosting is not where Kara’s poker skills end, however, as she has turned into a formidable opponent herself. To date, she has clocked in over half a million dollars in earnings, including a first place finish at the PartyPoker.com Sports Star Challenge and second place in the huge Irish Open. Kara has also made numerous attempts at the World Series of Poker in Vegas. She became the first woman in history to cash two years in a row, achieving this feat in 2008 and 2009 where she finished 104th and 238th respectively.
Keep an eye out for Kara Scott as she won’t be going anywhere soon. She has successfully branded herself as one of the most popular poker hosts in history, and the fact that she is a great player too only adds to her already tremendous respect in this industry.
